A Life Of Me!!!

Sometimes the world feels like its spinning so fast that I feel as if I've been flung into mid air and flying at the speed of light. Other times it feels as if it's stopped at a complete standstill on its axis and everything is hanging by a thread.

These past few weeks its been such a mix of the two that I really don't know if I'm coming or going. Things are a jumble of emotions, heartache, fear and somedays aggression.

Time, I wish, could be put on a stand still. There is so much I want to do and achieve. So many people that I want to spend time with.

Is there an easy way to tell your kids that their beloved nan is dying. Oh hell no.... I've struggled and struggled and struggled with that one. So grateful for amazing friends that are helping me through this.

What about being abused by your own grandmother for not visiting your mum while she's in hospital??? Um yeah, with 4 young kids in tow. Smart move. NOT!!!! My mum and I know each other well, well enough not to have to be strangle holding each other, sure I want to spend time with her, but I don't need to suffocate her. Not only that but having her constantly draining the life and not allowing us anytime. Just because you have the guilts over not being here for the past 'x' amount of years does not give you the right to come in now and try and take over. After its all said and done we'll go back to being the ones you don't give a rats about. Never been your favourite and know we never will be.

The ones that matter the most are once again left outside :(

I have really worked out who is here to be trusted and relied on and who is disgustingly toxic. I am glad to be rid of these people from my life. I don't need to be brought down to your pathetic level.

My life while extremely stressed and confusing right now, is full of happiness, live and beautiful times with the ones which matter most to me. As it should be.

cause last night I actually scrapped......

YES you read correctly I scrapped

Now pick yourself back up ;)

I was looking at photos and just suddenly felt the urge to throw some paint on card (for a change to canvas) so I went looking for a challenge..... and went to the old faithful KRAFT IT UP which this month criteria was fabric and stitching :) two things I LOVED back when.

Sticky Beaks - The two little boys stickying through the fence watching the showjumping at our local show. They all just love it :)

well that's about it, although I will have another to share later on ;)

It gets crazy, overwhelming, and sometimes downright impossible....

The past month has been like this.

With the crazy amount of sickness that has taken over it's felt like it caved our house in everything has suffered. My Uni work, my art work, the house, my sanity.... EVERYTHING......

Luke has been working the most stupidest hours too, which hasn't been helping, most nights, it's me v's the kids.

I don't know, counting down to next year and only having two at home, here's hoping for a little time to breathe.

Whoot - ahhhh a wedding photo ;) hard to believe it's almost 7.5yrs ago now. Just lots of doodling and hand written titles, oh and of course fun clusters

Becoming Daddy - Luke with the grubs. All within hours of them being born :)

He is Deacon.... - lots of bits of fun. Gave the white pen a work out, little Lou inspired

and finally the group project, we were given a butterfly shaped mask and I used it as a template to create the wings for my girl instead ;)

Well, I have scrapped and I can FINALLY show

I first up made this layout, kept it pretty simple ;)

Miss Gappy - all about the miss and her first lost tooth, can you believe she has now lost a second and says that one of her top ones is starting to wiggle. *sigh* it's all happening too soon.

The End of an Era

Well I have offically resigned from all DT's, I took two months off and that's finished with and I can say that I have no inclination to scrap. It still bores me, and I'm in the middle of a Guest spot and doing that has been such a struggle.

Get Picky May Sketch :)

LOVE the sketch, so easy to work with and this month we have been sponsered by a fantastic company Scrapmatts I've used the cogs as masks and then cut them up and added as a few accents. The kite and also the black thing (which is a cut up frame) is also from there :)

I took my inspiration from the flowers at the back, while mine aren't pinwheel flowers I saw it and thought of a huge garden. Plus I used the quote, only cause I LOVE it so much.

Yep I've been getting my canvas groove on :D

She Art is definitely inspiring me :)

Way too much fun, loving it so much and definitely quick and easy ;)

Gone a little housey at the moment and have three done so far. They are all a little the same but hey that's cool, it's mine. Although I'm running out of room to store them. Maybe I might have to sell??? Anyone want to buy something??? ;)

Home is where the He{art} is - I really really really love this one. Think its the off centre, mish mash of colours and the Prima tree stamp. I've found I always need black, really seems to ground everything in place.

The He{art} of the Home - At first I was aghhhhhh over this because I stuffed up and put black around the house now I'm quite liking the murky, messy feel of it. Makes it a little darker than I would have liked but it suits that crazy bright background.

Oh and this is just a wee little peak of something I've been working on ;) can't show it yet as it's for a commitment I made last month. Now to get the blasted video to work *eye roll* so keep your eye's pealed for a video of me creating this piece here.

I do still have a few canvases that are half completed from yesterdays Crafting for Cancer, what a fantastic day that was. The girls organised such fun and fabulous food, I'm always thinking with my stomach ;) They raised about $600 I think it was not bad going, for a day of fun, laughter, creating and PLENTY of chat. They had an auction with fabulous pieces donated by some of the best creative people in Australia and I was lucky enough to win the BEST frame by Anthea :) and my piece I donanted sold for $36 (OMG) here I was saying to Luke I'd be happy if someone brought it for $2 ;)

Ok well I'm off to try and fix this crazy video editor. I need something good.... suggestions???

Get Picky April Inspiration

Fantastic colour challenge of blue, yellow and white :) somehow mine has ended up a little more vibrant then originally planned but oh well

The Boy is Mine - photos of Adam the day he turned one..... wow, nearly two months ago now. Time flies huh, loving simple arty style. Little messy but fun too. After having so much focus on paper I'm glad to not have to scrap with it ;) also playing with my watercolour crayons, woohoooooooo love them, oh and of course paint.....

well here's a couple layouts that I never got around to sharing. whoops, so many things happening, this one I've had finished for about 3 weeks.

Revheads - Pretty self explanatory huh??? Photos from our family shoot in October last year. Still LOVING them Ali. We do love cars and Luke and I have raced a few different forms of motor sport since we started dating. Kids have grown up around every time of machine avaliable and they all would rather watch drags then cartoons.

Love - another photo from back in October. LOVE this photo of mum and dad. So natural and perfect. This was for The Color Room Palette 55. Looks so different from what the colours really are though, strange.

Finally got around to finishing off my first She Art Canvas, little different to what we were taught and totally HUGE at 20x50cm, lol, totally and utterly IN LOVE.... this class is absolutely fantastic. While I'm a messy sort of person anyway and have always painted and drew this just combines it all and it's no where as hard as it looks Christy is the best teacher, breaks it all down simple.

This little beauty is being actioned off on Sunday :) so if you are in the Rockhampton district and want a fun play day away from the kids check out Crafting For Cancer. I love love love this one, it's only small but was so perfect to work on.

I brought so many canvases yesterday that I think you'll all be bombarded with She Art for awhile, lol

It's good bye, but not good bye

I'll cut to the chase. No beating around the bush.

I've decided to have a break from scrapping, I don't know for how long, really the way I feel it is verging on indefinite. It bores me, I don't like the bitchiness, the competitiveness, feeling like you have to live up to everyone expectations, feeling like I'm just not good enough, the pressure, not having time to complete my Uni assignments...... I'm unmotivated, lacking drive to want to scrap, really if I look at it, it does come down to the fact that right now I find scrapping so boring, I look at my room try and start a page and its such a chore, and a boring chore, I'd rather scrub my toilet.....

Now don't get me wrong, I have made some great friends, some who I am looking forward to meeting in June, but scrapping is just not for me at the moment. I'm taking the next month off, no scrapping AT ALL and at the end of May I'm going to reasses how I feel. I am grateful of the teams which I have designed for.

I'm just sick of what was a fun hobby turning into something that makes me feel like shit.

There will still be a few layouts popping up until some DT commitments run out, most in a couple months. I've already stepped away from Helmar and Annas so you won't see me popping up there anymore.

You know what, I feel such relief about this. It's a huge relief to have decided this. A weight has been lifted.

I'm still going to share things, more crafty things like mixed media and canvases. So while I'm saying good bye to the scrapbooking I'm not entirely saying good bye to being creative.

So that is me.

Crate Paper

So Proud - All about my little missus :) I had our parent/teacher interview on Wednesday and her teacher is very pleased with the way she is going. Is one of the smartest in her class, and is currently doing some year 1 work as well as her prep work. As of next term her and two of the other preppies are going to be doing some extension work, and have their own special time with a teacher. Apart from hearing about how well she is going acidemically it was really great to hear that she is well adjusted little girl, knows her boundaries and will tell the other kids if they are getting too close in her space. lol. It was fantastic to hear that she is going well. I have noticed a huge change in her since being at school, apart from the cheek, she has matured and grown.

Decided to do this for the Crate Paper color challenge, which I think is closing today, nothing like last minute ;) ;) ;) So all fabulous Crate Paper think three different collections, plus a couple extra little bits. LOVE how these colours look together too.

Canvas Creating

So while I'm waiting for The She Art Workshop to start I thought I'd play around a little and get a feel for painting again.

I layed down paper, painted, misted, stamped, cut out and glued only to realise I really didn't like what I was doing so I started the process all over again and ended up with this. Even painting with my ink and using my Cricut for the tree. I love that tree :) While this isn't my favourite piece, something is a miss..... I do sort of like it a little

Jillibean Soup, stirring up YUM

Lets start off with some cards.

Using some Core'dinations and Jillibean Soup from my Annas Kit this month, so if you are looking for any of these products just pop over there ;)

Technically Bad - The photo might be, but I love it. As for the layout, well it took forever for me to punch those strips. Again all the products on here can be found at Anna's (lace included) and again my handmade flowers. Loving them so much right now. Doesn't help that they are so easy to make too.

oh and should I mention HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!

I'm in town spending too much money on myself. lol

I was so excited to see that Anna had sent me some Echo Park - For the Record this month to play with. I've loved this line since I first saw the sneaks. Fabulous vintage inspired prints and colours which actually screamed girly to me.... lol, in typical fashion I scrapped my boys instead.

My Middle Man - There isn't much I can say about Dea that I haven't actually said in the past month or so. He is really different to Zac and to Adam too. He is different in looks, he is different in attitude, he is very different in many ways. Suppose that's what comes with being the one in the middle.

Deacon - Pretty self explanatory right now.

Truck Boy - Adam and his truck. lol. I would LOVE to buy the really huge Tonka truck but when it's $80 I just don't see the value in it. Especially when the other two boys would want one too. This is actually based on a Pencillines sketch from a few weeks back.

How fast are these weeks going, just feels like I shared my last The Color Room layout with you.

These colours are fantastic, but I really didn't know what to do, kept it simple and a little arty too. I'm really loving to gesso old book pages down on my background :) prepare to see that alot more. lol. all I needed on this was a couple simple embellishments, of course, since we are Prima sponsered this month I HAD to pull out my prima stash ;) ;) ;) (needed so much arm twisting there)

Here's The Story - Would you believe it if I told you that both these boys were sitting in the backs of their Tonka trucks????? well it's true. I put Adam in the back of his to grab a few photos and along came Dea with his truck (yes all my boys have their own Tonka Trucks) plonked it down beside Adam, and sat in the back. They started 'chatting' and playing which is always so beautiful to watch. End result a happy mummy with some lovely photos.

A Transparent Flower Tutorial, ANYONE???

When you are given a challenge to create your own transparency, you have to think about ink and stamps.... RIGHT??? Well I went for the glimmermist and heat gun approach.

First Step

Spray Glimmermist all over your transparency and let dry (you can speed this up by using your heat gun, just becareful not to use it too much)

Second Step

Using your Tim Holtz flower die, or punches or any other flower die you have (or your Tim Holtz die ;) lol, cause really it's awesome) cut a few different sized flowers. I went for 3 large, 2 medium and a small.

Third Step

Which I didn't photograph (whoops sorry) is to use your heat gun to shape the petals. First (base) petals don't need alot of shaping, just heat enough so that the sides slightly raise and curl. Continue this until you have heated all the petals and with each one into the centre heat them more so that they curl in towards themselves. You want to create a bud effect. Make sure that the larger flowers are the bottom, the medium are the middle and the smallest is the tightest bud

Fourth Step

Glue your petals together from the most flattest to the small tight bud for the centre of your flower. It really is that simple. Worst thing, you'll want to make more and experiment with different colours. Plus they are something that you need to see in real life because photos really don't do them justice.

and this is what I used it on the Make it Yourself challenge for Aussie Scrap Source which I was late in entering again.

Little Miss - I know I've scrapped this photos too much lately but hey when you accidently print them twice, I'm not going to let them go to waste. Plus I've run out of ink so I have to make do with what I have. lol. Used some of the GORGEOUS new Prima on this. As soon as I saw this paper I knew I had to cut it up. Plus those leaves... to die for.

Side note: I know that the flowers are nothing new, but I just wanted to share ;)

Dude - Dea had this weird obsession with Zac's gumboots at the end of last year. Would walk around carrying them for ages and even sit and play with them, BUT never ever wear them. Some Websters paper and Prima embellishments, I especially love that mask :) oh and the new (mist).a.bles, going to invest in a few more of those if you want to know where mine came from just check out Annas some of this is out of my new DT kit ;)

These Feet are Made for Running - (oh and tripping, but that's another story) I'm pretty sure I kept with this challenge. You have to check it out ;) Dea is always running to where ever he wants to go. I don't think he knows what slow down means and his knees know it now. Fallen down the hill twice in the past three days and now is sporting a nice big gash in his knee. Kept this simple, little bit of Cosmo Cricket , little bit of Hambly and some other cute touches ;)

New Palette is up at The Color Room and it is a whole lot of fun. Even more exciting is that this marks ONE YEAR and for the next month we are having Prima inspired palettes *sigh* can it get much better than that

Adore You - Another of Charlottes photos, don't you love new pics to get you all inspired :) this little chicky just makes my heart skip a beat. Using all Prima on this layout, mixed some old with some very new (notice some of these flowers are in the palette) I was actually a little nervous with these colours to start with but I'm really enjoying the way it has turned out. Even used my Cricut :)

This little CAP

I love this cap. The first time I saw it in Pumpkin Patch I wanted it but I didn't want to pay the price for it. So I waited and waited and finally managed to pick it up for under $10 on sale. The boys love it too, Zac has been wearing it to town each time we go in. Thinks he's pretty spiffy ;)

This is my take on the Scrap the Boys April Challenge (huh, APRIL - means it's my birthday soon)

The Cap - As you can guess I was inspired by the cap as my clothing choice. What you can't see though is the red stitching and distressing on the front of the peak. How much do you love that this Sass paper looks almost THE SAME as the cap and I had to include that screw head brad to add a little metal. Used a random mix of stickers and rub ons and messy stitching cause it's a boy layout, they can't have neat stitching (well my boys can't).

Finally....... Savvy Crop Part Two

The last couple of the Scrapbook Savvy CC... which was really fun to play along with

Buddies - this was my take on Anthea's challenge. No card and handmade embellishment. Kept this really simple. Love the colours in these papers, little My Minds Eye and Cosmo Cricket.... this is such a cute pic of Dea. Whole story about this photo which I will get to another day ;) try next FRIDAY (hint hint)

Watermelon - this one is for Kerryn's challenge. Which was sort of similar to Antheas heheeee, old stash, hand made embellishment but needed two pieces of card. My kids would live on watermelon if I let them. They just love it. Don't blame them cause I do too. It's a shame it's so expensive. Mix of ranges again here Prima, Sass, Girls Paperier, Making Memories, Crate Paper and Love Elsie. Was so much fun trawling through my product to find things. Some of this dates back to 2007 (which is when I started scrapping) Few handmade embellishments too, the three different flowers and the slice of watermelon :) do have to love my felt stash :)

There was also a hidden criteria in the challenge, had to create a card using the scraps, as you know me + card = do not mix..... surprising I'm happy with the way this turned out

Again I am completely in LOVE with this photo of Miss Charli girl. It shows her naturally. None of these cheesy smiles she does lately, or playing with her wobbly tooth.

Lock Up Your Boys - Thought while I'm having fun playing along with challenges I might as well give the Stuff 2 Scrap one a go. Was about dressing up your chipboard, not that I dressed mine up much but I did play. Who would have thought when I brought my very very expensive drawing pencils I would end up using them to colour in chipboard (whoops) that's the padlock. As for the heart I painted, added a little bit of tape, stamped it, sprayed with some glimmermist, distressed the edges and then added a few pearls. Pulled out some more My Minds Eye for this one and added a little Prima for some girly touches (loving these new Prima leaves).

Do you ever take a photo that technically is far from perfect but really is just PERFECT..... Little bit like this really. I got some gorgeous photos of Charlotte last weekend, but this one just screams a million little things to me. I do really love how it's so over exposed, and that there are a few little sun flares captured too. The way it highlights her hair and the cute little pose. My girl is growing up way too fast.

a Get Picky Layout for the March Inspiration

In 1 Year - it's suprising how much can change, how much you took for granted can be taken away, how much you learn and you grow. These two photos were taken ONE YEAR apart. Me being 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant and Adam being 8 days from turning ONE. Yep he baked for a long time ;) Mixing up a bit of Prima, SRM Stickers and AC Thickers. This is an awesome prompt and you should stop by and check it out.

Since Aussie Scrap Source have been doing their Make it Yourself challenges, I've been 'meaning' to join in, had ideas just never got them down :( FINALLY. I got one finished. On time but not on time to email it too them (thanks so much to Suz who said I could email anyway xx)

You - This past weeks Challenge was flowers :) worked in well as I found a fantastic vid on how to make CUTE flowers. Past week that's all I've done really. lol

Pulled out this gorgeous paper by Echo Park. I've only had it sitting for 3 months, ekkk, and got stuck in.

Pic is one of the latest of Charlotte and the journaling is just me saying how I'm so thankful she loves school.

Yes I know all my up close pics are of my flowers but I'm a little excited at how well they turned out :)

Savvy Cyber Crop Part 1

Thought I'd play along with the Scrapbook Savvy CC this month and YES I will upload in the gallery too, lol. Forgot Last month, whoops......

Anyway this month was all about Stash Busting :) gotta love that. Still the only CHA releases from this year I have are Bo Bunny and Sass. Both I never brought.... so for me it was easy to reach for the older product. Not that I don't love it the same.

Home - This was for Sara's challenge use at least 25 items (every single thing counts)

4x paper, 2x tags, 2x string, 3x chipboard, 1x butterfly, 2x pearls, 4x rhinestones, 1x doiley (cut in half), 3x brads, 4x alpha stickers, 1x photo, 1x tape, 2x stickers, 1x flower, 1x lace, 1x pen, 1x embroidery thread, 1x denim, 1x rubon, 1x machine stitching, 1x sequin waste = 38 items.... LOVE this pic of home. LOVE this range from Crate Paper and a few other little bits by Prima

Tags - This was for San's challenge, use your scraps to make some tags. I like these, they're a little bit funky, little bit random but I think they look fun.

Grrr - I took San's challenge a step further and made this LO using only scraps (minus the card).... yep EVERYTHING come from my scraps stash, I have an embellishment scrap stash on my desk, if things don't work I throw into a bowl, and all these things I'm guessing didn't work on other layouts. lol.... Well Mr Zac, can't say much about this face, past few days I've seen it WAY too often

Just to prove that I do have my little embellishment stash of unused items.

Had to use the Prima colours again. Something completely different to the other layout though. This is a little bit mixed media and I LOVE IT!!!

Happiness - Love this photo of Chevy and Adam, even though you can only see the back of Adam's head. I had a lot of fun with this one. Collage, stamping with ink and paint, throwing a bit of glitter, tearing up paper, adding some gesso. Just fun.

I've really been loving challenges lately, great distraction from my studies that's for sure ;) lol

Fairy - This is my take on the March Prima BAP so of course everything is PRIMA ;) I love these natural photos of Charlotte. Lately she's been giving the craziest smiles when the camera is pointed her way. So I need to sneak up on her. Loving stitching again too, started using the machine again since it's set up so well in my room now, but gone back to hand stitching, I'm actually surprised this looks neat. Needed the big guns of glue out to hold all these flowers on too. Gotta love my Helmar for that.

Miss You - I knew I'd miss Charlotte once she went to school but I didn't realise how much. She's always been my little helper and somedays I feel lost that she isn't here. This one's for the Prima Product Pick/Colour Palette. Loved the line up of Greens with a touch of white and grey. I really enjoyed creating this one. Lots of cutting, and iron on and old packaging.

So that's it for the moment. I'm off to work on a few more challenges

Circus Family

Well you all probably know that I have a circus history in my family, it's fun that's for sure. Still doesn't explain why I'm afraid of heights, lol

This I actually created for the Crate Paper sketch, nothing like leaving things til the last minute huh. I still LOVE Restoration. The colours, the patterns, the fantastic chipboard. Love it all. I really kept with the sketch this time (shock horror for me I KNOW) usually I'm messing things around and trying to change it up, but this sketch was just perfect.

This, That and a Challenge

So this is what happens when you have a few deadlines, a few things that you just FEEL like doing and then forgetting what you were suppose to use on a challenge.... oops

Just Me - Well this was suppose to be for hmmmm not telling cause it might make it easy to see what the next challenge is...... hehehehehehe. Mish Mash of Sass and Prima on this one, plus a few other pieces. I know I've said it before but I'm really really loving using my hipsta prints in my scrapping :)

My Babies in My Hand - Found all of the kids ankle tags from when they were born. So sweet, it's hard to believe they were all once sooooo small. I do have to thank the GORGEOUS Lou for these papers, thank you sweets, was a very much appreciated gift. I haven't actually brought anything new at all this year. No idea how I've not, dying for new product... Again mix of Sass and Prima. Can you spot those sweet little flowers peaking out, oh and the awesome button down the bottom ;)

Trendy - This was going to be for White With 1 but I'm unsure to enter it. Maybe a little too much 'other' colour showing through. These glasses were one of Charlottes christmas presents and HAS to wear them now every time we go somewhere. LOVES them, again using a bit of Sass. Just LOVE the foldies. How fun are they. Plus soooo easy to cut up and layer

Afternoon Treat - All my kids would live on watermelon if I let them and if it was cheap ;) Wanted to keep it very simple but LOVE how this has turned out almost like a randome sort of patchwork and yep ONCE again Sass ;) Couldn't help that I didn't want to put these papers down, the colours are just gorgeous.

I've been ever so good and completed assignments and almost up to date with DT commitments so I thought I'd give myself a little scrap time so I thought I'd have a go at the 123 Challenge this month.....

You're Just Too Much of a Bruiser Boy - Dea after his face plant to his bed. It looked soooo sore and he is still a little bruised now. Hardly cried, said it didn't hurt, I'm surprised he didn't break his nose to tell you the truth. Playing around with some Sass, Prima, Pink Paislee. Was great to just pull out random products that fit in with the challenge. Think I covered all the criteria too :) see you can do flowers on a boys layout and it looks cool ;) lol.

Here is what I created from the ‘whitewashed’ His Room Palette

ekkkk (this was a challenge for me, where's my bright colours, hehehe)I do have to admit though this has now turned into one of my favourites

Just for something fun here's a few things you may or may not already know about me ;)

UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL with

1. I am from Queensland Australia (not going to mention the town cause you'd find me EASILY) and I am currently Designing for The Color Room, Helmar, Annas Craft Cupoard, Scrap the Boys, Kraft it Up and Get Picky (yes I'm busy)

2. I Live with my husband and our four children, our dog and a million other creatures who have decided to make our place home too

3. On my desk right now you will find: (how long do you have) scissors, messy paint and mist splatters, tape backs, scraps of paper, the odd flower, material, gesso, bling, my dymo, a ruler, pens, a box of dt projects, usually my phone and my camera too, ummm I think I will stop before I embarass myself. You can probably tell I need to clean up.

4. My favourite colours to work with at the moment: yellow, umm yellow and maybe aqua. But yep I'm loving yellow, oh and green

5. What kind of themes do you often scrap? Not a huge theme scrapper. You will find pages on the kids birthdays but they aren't full blown birthday related layouts, and I don't think I've ever scrapped Christmas, I just do whatever, more of a moment person and just becuase I like scrapping.

6. Where do you scrap? I am VERY lucky to have my own scrap space. It's still a work in progress but I love having all my artwork around me :)

7. What is your scrapping process? Scrap Process.... is that a trick question?? I don't really have a process, sometimes I will start with a photo, other times I'll create a background and then you have those times where you just start throwing things a a piece of card and hope for the best.

8. My favourite food: I'd like to say chocolate but right now I'm trying to loose the last few kg's of baby weight so it's just not doing it for me. Really though I say fruit. I love summer because of all the stone fruit and the melons. Fruit bat from way back.

9. My top 3 favourite tools: scissors, HS distresser, sewing machine

10. I get my inspiration from: many places, magazines, the internet, surfing blogs, nature, letting my kids design my backgrounds ;) my fellow DT members

11. This week I've decided to create my background from material, I hunted down an old pair of denim shorts and ended up cutting off the legs (I now have a pair of shorty shorts, win win really). Measured out the size I wanted, cut it out and then this is where it gets fun :)

- you need to find an object to use for distressing, something that is coarse, I used a pumice stone thingy to start with, you can use a very heavy sandpaper too.

-I've also dropped bleech in places

- Once this had been washed, I realised it wasn't distressed enough so I used a serrated edge knife (trust me should have used this first place much easier and really tears into the fabric)

- Last step I used my Heidi Swapp mask and some gesso to add dots randomly.

So I thought I would share the love and give away this little kit I threw together.

theres paper, a canvas sheet, buttons, flowers, book paper, sequin waste, 7Gypsies tapes, foil tape, chipboard, brown paper bags, bits and pieces for scrapping or altered art, lots of metal, acrylic, journaling tags, stamps, three sets of alphas, plus heaps more. All things I love and adore and continually finding myself using :)

Also included is one of my favourite pieces of art, it's been sitting on my wall but I think it needs a new home :) It's made me happy everytime I look at it but it's only ever me that looks at it these days.

In amongst my DT Pack was the Home Tweet Home range from My Little Shoebox. It's so cutesy, with sweet little branches and birds. Very fantastic for cutting out :)

Almost 9 Years of Us - Photo by Ali Russell... pretty much enough said in the title. This April Luke and I will celebrate 9 years together and 7 years married. SCARY....

My School Girl - So sweet, so cute and still looks too small. Does have a big attitude though. I can see so many changes in Charlotte since she has started school. While she had all the basics before starting she has really responded well. LOVES writing and can usually spell any word she wants to correctly. She is really into sounding out and is getting the whole idea of blending sounds.

I love Bo Bunny Ad Lib

I was so excited to get this FANTASTIC collection from Anna this month.

It's one of the new CHA releases from Bo Bunny - Ad Lib. So bright so fun and PERFECT for little boys. These layouts are all fairly simple as I wanted to keep the focus on the papers. With these fantastic colours you don't want to add much to them anyway.

Dirty Attitude - I was going to do a layout using these photos all about how Dea is always dirty and into anything that is dirty. The night I started this Dea had been in the foulest of moods all day. Unfortunately it's not a once a week thing it's an EVERY DAY thing. He will non stop scream, cry and generally carry on for upto an hour at a time if he doesn't get his own way. It's really starting to drive me crazy.

Why? - oh bugger, there's a theme happening here. Everyday moment with Zac is him getting angry, throwing things, clentching his fists, stomping. Luckily he's over it fairly quickly. Again though it's driving me balmy as to WHY he is like this. I'm going to start eliminating foods from their diets, not that we eat much crap anyway but who knows.

One Today - Ahhhhh, a few photos from Adams slap up birthday party. Last minute decision to have a little party for him, was just us. I think he loved it though, and he really got into the cake. Was mesmerised by the candle to start off with and then when he was swipping it he ended up with icing on his finger and after that well it was cake for one and all.

Well that's enough from me for the time being.

Stuck? - Hmmm I think NOT

I've been letting the kids 'design' backgrounds for me, this is one of Charlottes, she loves my mists (girl is not like her mummy, lol) You will get to see what Zac has done soonish..... his background is a few weeks old and I've only gotten around to using it. Anyway the kids like playing, I like playing and I'm going to have a whole heap of unique backgrounds to play with.

The Adam Shuffle - This is based on the Stuck?! Sketches March 1st sketch. I used the end of my Sass stash from my March DT kit from Annas. I managed 4 layouts from 3 pieces of paper and a sheet of stickers :) good work on my part I think ;) lol.

Anyways, Adam first took a few steps at 9 months, we really thought we would have been walking by 10 months but no, still now at 12 months he won't take anymore than 2 steps at a time (unless he is holding something) it's funny to see him stand cause he does this little shuffle like he's trying to walk but is getting no where.

Happy Days - Well we celebrated alright with this little man turning ONE. I love these colours and LOVE this background paper. Suits the colours Adam was wearing that's for sure. Just a couple layers and a couple embellishments and I was pretty much done.

Design Teams

I've been so lucky to be able to design for some fantastic shops and challenge sites

Superly excited to be asked to be apart of THE COLOR ROOM, when I received that email it blew me away, the whole team is extremely talented and such a diverse range of styles. I am still pinching myself, my reveal was that palette below :)

Sometimes I think they have me mixed up with someone else as I just wonder if I really deserve these roles.

It's really very humbling to BE ASKED, I don't go out looking for Design Teams and most that I have been apart of I have had the pleasure of someone asking if I was interested in designing for them.

You would all probably know that I don't Toot alot and don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm not appreciative of these things it's just I'm not a LOOK at me sort of person.

While I'm talking about this, I'm very excited to be staying at Get Picky too for the next 6 months. I love the challenges, cause we all need that kick to scrap more multi photo layouts, (I have whoops'd once though and created a LO with only one photo, thankfully I was able to fix that up)

So I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me (fellow scrappers, shops, every gorgeous person who has commented on my blog) with my scrapping and everyone who has allowed me to be apart of their design teams.

Gorgeous gorgeous colours, I did have fun playing around with this and kept pretty much with the sketch too

Girly - Miss is sooooo girly, loves her skirts, her dresses and PINK. Pulled out my Prima stash for this one, all these pretty flowers, some very old ones but I do love the black on black.

So for my first DT layout I'm pretty happy :)

The Color Room

I've been playing along with The Color Room again lately, unfortunately I've been terribly slack and I haven't uploaded my layouts. To tell the truth I've only just photographed them, there was no point when I haven't had a mouse for the computer...... Kids, scissors, temptation.......

Very Lucky - Just beautiful photos of mum with the kids. Something we will always cherish and I hope they will too. Just playing around with some GORGEOUS Webster's Pages and a few other little bits. I was a little ekkkk, when I saw this combo, but LOVE how it has turned out.

Fast - Dea just goes and goes and goes. He is the most energetic of all four kids. Never seems to stop or tire. Quite amazing really for a little lad. Love my Tape background, so fun and fast. Mix of My Little Shoebox here, worked perfectly with the combo. I do love the colour of the photo though and it gives it a little more punch.

Mwah - When I first saw the colours of this palette I was a little thrown. So I kept it fairly mono with the pink and added small touches of red, orange and brown. I like this photo of Charlotte, love her eyelashes and that where the theme of this came from. She has superlong lashes and loves to give sweet butterfly kisses. Again some beautiful Websters Pages in this one.

Crate and Helmar

Just go hand in hand :) I created this following layout for the Crate Paper Colour challenge, awesome colours together that's for sure. I teamed it up with the ends of my old Helmar stash, as my NEW Helmar stash decided to finally show up yesterday (long story.... couriers rang me at the beginning of LAST week and wanting to know if they could just drop the box off at some shop, this shop is 20km+ out of my way, told them no that wasn't acceptable and that they are paid to deliver to me ;) so they reckon that they were too busy, hmmm, drive past every single day, and I would just have to wait when they weren't busy, guess that was yesterday)

Anyway back to the topic at hand ;) my layout.....

My Baby - well can't deny that fact, he is always going to be my baby. So funny I got Luke to take this photo on what was Adams due date (last year) I actually have a photo of me pregnant with him which I'm going to print off and scrap them together. What a difference a year makes hey. A whole mash of Crate Paper (Restoration, Snow Days, Orbit and Lillian) with a few scattered bits from American Crafts :)

Anna Showcase

Be warned extra extra long post

I was lucky enough to receive all the Kaiser Bubblegum Hill collection last month from Anna. Had so much fun with it and ended up creating the following layouts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the backsides of the paper so most are using that. So if you are like me and love that simple print, head over to the shop and stock up. Plus it’s friendship/easter themed so perfect for whats around the corner too.

Girl – Just my gorgeous one and only.

Me You Us – Me and Mum.... nuf said right

The Greatest Gift – LOVE our family photos, love that they are so natural.

Growing Up is Not and Option – Yes he is not allowed to grow up. It’s not fair that he is one already where has that time gone.

Yum – Zac two years ago. Chocolate for breakfast, yum.

The Things I Love – just some more on Charlotte, love the little journaling tags in this collection.

Your Bunny Basket – Glorious diecut. Again this photo is 2-3 years old. I think Charlotte was 2 turning 3 when she made this. So a very long time ago. I can still see her face and how proud she was.

These following layouts are the ones I did for my step by step last month. I went for something different, two super simple layouts. I know people are always asking how to do simple. It’s not hard and it’s not always boring either. Used the fabulous Bo Bunny Olivia for these, while it’s such a girly range, it can be made a little boyish with those colours

Follow Me – Zac wanted to keep going and going, to see how far up the dolphins would swim.

Crazy Us – sometimes we are a little silly and crazy. Suppose we have to be to survive some days.

And finally I’ve gotten stuck into my DT kit this month, sooooo full of beautiful fun product J yay

These three are using the Sass Paper Crush, OMG beautiful colours and designs on these papers. So in love

The Last – The last little tiny pair of baby feet to grace my little family. They are growing up to fast and I wish they would slow down.

Excited – the look on Charlottes face when I let her open this up was priceless, we’ve been looking for a pretty twirly skirt for so long and this one was perfect. It gets worn a bit, not just for special occasions now either. I created this one for the Sass challenge too, have you seen it VERY COOL

Be Mine – Zac looks a little sad in this photo but the sentiment behind his gesture was perfect. While we went shopping on Valentine’s Day he saw these chocolate roses and asked if he could buy one for Charlotte because she was at school. How caring is that.

Kraft It Up March

Wow nearly half way through March and I still haven’t shown this. Whoops. Current Kraft It Up challenge. I loved doing this. Awesome saying and for once I wanted to shy away from using kraft as my background, but as the challenge goes, it is there ;)

Greater Gift – I adore the photos that Ali took of my family back in October. I especially adore this one of mum and Charlotte. I’ve had this piece of Sass paper for so long and I was always stumped with what to do with it. Eventually turned it a few times and liked the way it looked like this and worked from there. The worst thing with Sass is that they have such pretty backgrounds that sometimes it’s hard to cover them up.

Capture - My Hipsta app would be more used than my camera now. oops, but I really do love the effects. Huge mishmash of products in this some old some new, some vintage and some trashy ;) I do know that oneday Dea won't won't to hold my hand anymore here's hoping that day won't be for a LONG time so for now I'm treasuring each and every time he does :)

No upclose shots right now as they are on the other computer, will have to upload a couple when I get the chance.

Scrap the Boys is BACK!!!!!

Yes you read correctly Scrap the Boys is back, this time we are only having monthly challenges and they are so much fun (trust me I know up until June, hehehehehehehe)

15.2.11 – Such a fun challenge of capturing the moment in time, needed to use numbers or write out the numbers for this month. Every afternoon, we sit, we play, we dance and we wait for Charlotte to come home on the school bus. This was just one of those afternoons. Played around with some Sass on this one. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored with it ;)

Get Picky - Feb

Well the end of February has come and gone, ekkk and I still haven’t shown my Feb Inspiration example for Get Picky.

Our Day – Our wedding day, almost 7 years ago now. So hard to believe as it’s gone so fast. Beautiful photo to take inspiration from this month, you need to go and check it out. Also a HUGE shout out to Pink Paislee for sponsoring the DT. We were incredibly lucky to receive such a gorgeous pack to use.

Well hello there ;)

Where did I disappear to you might be wondering????

Huge things are happening in this house, I am now officially a Uni student.

I never got a place in the course I wanted but I thought I should do the next best thing and go for a Prep Program just to get me back into the swing of studying and refresh my brain a little. This past week has seen me submit my first assignment, get my second underway (which is due tomorrow) and I need to get started on my third. So from now until the end of this course I pretty much have something due each week. It’s going to be busy, it’s going to be intense but wow it’s also going to be a blast and I really can’t wait to push myself. Scrapping may come to a bit of a halt, dt work only, but still that’s quite a bit and atleast it’ll give me some down time.

I’ve noticed that I’m sooooo far behind in showing my work that you’ll get sick of my blog updating over this next week.

It's been such a LONG time since I had the chance to play along with a Cyber Crop. Scrapbook Savvy is having one this weekend and I thought why not??? So far I've enjoyed what I've done, although I do think it must be time to clean down my desk. Anyone feel like taking a stab at what manufacturer is covering it right now?? hehehehe

So Typically You - my take on Sar's Blind Scrap. I'm no good at these, end up using them as starting points and then going off to do my own thing. Was right for the paper placement but after that. I sort of wandered off a little sorry Sar :( I took this photo of Dea Saturday afternoon, he came up for a cuddle and just likes to sit on my lap. Something a lot of people don't see in him as he is always go go go. Underneath though he is the biggest mummy's boy. I'm surprised the photo is even in focus. Love that it makes him look soft and not the little trouble maker he it ;) I threw a lot of Sassafras at this, been hoarding this yellow paper for way too long, so I decided why not, just cut into it.

Run to the Water - This is for Anthea's challenge, involved quiet a few criteria, here's hoping that I covered them all. OMG you should see her sample, DIVINE *sigh* anyway back to me ;) These photos were taken a few months back when we went down to the beach. Was the first time that all the kids actually jumped into the water and enjoyed themselves. Fantastic to see. Again full of Sassafras. Told you I need to clean down my desk. lol. Just kept it simple with lots of layers. Have to admit this is becoming one of my favourites.

Ah well that's all I can show for the moment, here's hoping I can knock off a couple of the other challenges, or maybe I have ;) since I've scheduled this on Sunday Night

Art Journaling in Feb

I haven't done as much as I wanted this month, sometimes my 10minutes are more like 1-2 minutes, enough time to throw down some paint, or stamping or even a few bits of tape. Still though atleast I've got those few minutes to play. I'm actually liking doing it like this too.

Girls Day - Charlotte and I had a day out, just us, no boys allowed, its something that rarely happens and something we both enjoy. Girly shopping, cappas, cupcakes, all fun things to do with my baby girl. I added a few other bits and pieces on this, some Prima flowers and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, such a fun product.

this one came from the Kim Archer Workshops @ Home Blog. The Support girls have a colour challenge happening right now and I LOVED the colours so I thought I would play along.

Summer Play - (hehehe, stole the @Home part), created this very quickly. Nothing better than those layouts that just fall together. Little fabric (since I've organised my new space, it's so easy to put my hands onto everything and use the sewing machine), little stitching, some Sassafras paper and bam it turns out like this. Anyway photo taken with my Hipsta app on my iPhone, think this gets used daily :) best app ever. We've really loved the summer afternoons, hasn't been too hot, and great for playing outside. The kids went through a HUGE frisbee stage late last year, this was one of the afternoons.

I've flipped mine and changed it around a little but it's still sort of the same. I have scrapped this photo before but it's so cute and precious. Lots of beautiful products here.
